Wedding Wishes

My nephew, Matthew, and his beautiful fiance, Carissa, are getting married later this afternoon, and this is the card I made.  The base card is basic black topped with red glitter paper, and a piece of wedding paper framed in the basic black, and punched with a corner heart punch I have.  The bride and groom hearts were made with the Stampin' Up! heart framelits. The bride heart was embossed with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder, and I also cut out a piece of silver glitter paper with the heart framelits to put behind the white bride heart, and topped it off with a rhinestone.   The forever and always sentiment at the bottom of the card is from the Loving Thoughts stamp set, and was stamped with versamark and embossed with silver embossing poweder.  The little red hearts on each side of the sentiment are red glitter paper punched with a small heart punch.  Congratulations, Matt & Carissa, and best wishes for a lifetime of happiness!

Angry Birds

I'm not sure if my stepson still plays that Angry Birds game, but his birthday is tomorrow, and this is the card I made.  Thank you to Valita Reynolds at http://valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.com.au/ for sharing her pattern for the red bird.

Card Clubs - October 2, 9, & 10, 2012

These are the cards we will make at the card clubs in October:

This card uses the Gently Falling and Layered Labels stamps sets.  The base card is daffodil delight.  The "For You" at the bottom of the card was stamped with cherry cobbler on whisper white, and then cut out with a framelit.  The ribbon behind the "For You" is the 1/8" taffeta ribbon in early espresso. There is a 3-1/4" layer of early espresso topped with a 3" layer of cherry cobber.  I punched out the white squares, and then stamped them with cherry cobbler and daffodil delight ink.  The edges have been sponged with early espresso.

This card was inspired by one made by KimRothStamps on Splitcoaststampers and uses the Friendship Preseves stamp set and coordinating framelits.  The base card is chocolate chip which has been topped with a layer of island indigo which was embossed with the vintage wallpaper embossing folder.  The "Thanks a Bunch" stamp was stamped with island indigo on whisper white and cut out with the framelits, and then framed with a piece of chocolate chip paper that was cut out using the next larger framelit.  There is a small piece of designer series paper at the bottom with a whisper white ribbon to top it off.

This card, which uses the Merry Minis and Greetings of the Season stamp sets, was inspired by Lynn Starzl.  Lynn's creative blog can be seen at  www.starzlstamps.com.  The base card is marina mist which has been topped with a piece of whisper white.  I used the Merry Minis coordinating punch pack to punch out the decorations which were stamped in real red, marina mist, and old olive.  I also added some glitter to the stars in the corners.  The sentiment at the bottom was also stamped in marina mist.  The squares framing the mini decorations were created using the 3/4" and 1" circle, postage stamp, and scallop square punches. I topped the card off with a litttle red bow.

If anyone not in one of my card clubs would like to make these cards, I have room at my house on Wednesday, October 10.  I just ask that you let me know you are coming so I'm sure to have enough supplies.  Thank you!

September 4, 11, & 12, 2012 - Card Clubs

These are the cards that we will make for the card clubs on September 4, 11, & 12:

This card was inspired by the card on p. 29 in the new Stampin' Up! holiday catalog and uses the Perfecty Preserved stamp set and coordinating framelit dies.  I used cajun craze for the main card, and the first layer was lucky limeaid card stock which was cut with the window frames framelits, and then pierced with the coordinating piercing pack.  All of the stamping was done on whisper white card stock.  The canning jar and pear stem were done in early espresso, the canning jar top, flower, and wording were all done in cajun craze, and the pear was stamped in lucky limeaid.  The sentiment and sentiment background were both cut out using the itty bitty banner framelits.   I used a small piece of hemp for the bow in the upper left corner.

This card uses the new Googly Ghouls stamp set.  The base card is pumpkin pie card stock which has been topped with a piece of whisper white that was embosseed with the spider web folder and chalked with gray chalk.  All stamping was done on whisper white paper.  The sentiment is from the Wacky Wishes hostess stamp set and was stamped using pumpkin pie ink.  The witch and spider were stamped using basic black ink, and I colored the witch's face in with certainly celery marker.

This card was made using the Love & Sympathy stamp set.  The base card is bashful blue.  The first layer is choclate chip card stock which has been embossed with the petals-a-plenty embossing folder.  All stamping was done on whishper white card stock with chocolate chip ink.  I used a sponge dipped in chocolate chip ink to accent the edges of the whisper white card stock before mounting them on the bashful blue background pieces.  I used the beautiful wings embosslit to cut out both the bashful blue and chocolate chip colored butterflies.  I used the dotted ribbon border scallop punch to create the piece at the bottom of the card.  The 2-3/8" scallop circle punch was used on bashful blue card stock to create the border for the sentiment which was punched using the 1-3/4" circle punch.

I'm still experiencing some difficulty in getting really good pictures of the cards and believe that the cards look much better in person than they do on the computer screen.  If anyone not in the card club would like to make these cards, I still have room for a few more people at my house on Wednesday, September 12.

Late Night Stampers Fall 2012 Treasurer Hunt

The Late Night Stampers are holding another Treasure Hunt starting August 20 and ending October 31, 2012.   Play for a chance to win $150 in free Stampin' Up! products.

Right after this box on 50 of the Late Night Stamper blogs (which are listed in the lower right corner of my blog under Late Night Stamper Web Ring) you will find a clue which will be a picture of a Stampin' Up! product.  Write down the name of the blog and the clue from 50 of the blogs.  Email your answers to me at:  riehlebr@gmail.com to be entered for a chance to win $150 in Stampin' Up! products from Late Night Stamper Founder Sherrill Graff in a drawing to be held on October 31, 2012.  For those that submit answers to me, I also plan to hold a drawing on October 31 where one lucky winner will win a prize from me (much smaller than what Sherrill is offering).  Good luck everyone!!  My clue is:

The Big Shot -- I just love it and find myself using it in some capacity for almost every card.
