April 3 & 10 Card Clubs

These are the cards that we will be making at my upcoming cards clubs on April 3 and 10:  (Unfortunately it looks like my pictures ended up with a shadow on them.)

This card was inspired by Julie Arvin on Stampin' Connection, and it uses my new favorite stamp set -- the Mixed Bunch set out of the mini catalog.  The base card is tempting turquoise which I topped with a piece of  whisper white embossed with the dots.  I stamped one of the flower stamps on whisper white paper using tempting turquoise, daffodil delight, and melon mambo and then punched them out with the coordinating blossom punch.  The centers were stamped with a stamp from the same set and cut out with the one inch circle punch and applied with a brad in the center and dimensionals underneath.  I also punched out a solid blossom using the same color card stock behind each flower.  The pot was just a piece cut from early espresso card stock and stamped with one of  the Sincere Salutation stamps. 

This card was inspired by Miss Vicky on Splitcoaststampers and uses the Flight of the Butterfly, Inspired by Nature, and Teeny Tiny Messages stamp sets.  This is a spinner card which is a lot of fun to make and give away.  The base card is melon mambo. The grass was stamped with old olive and the little flowers were stamped in melon mambo on whisper white.  The butterfly was stamped with old olive on melon mambo and cut out with the butterfly punch.  The butterfly really spins, and I'm really looking forward to showing my card club how easy this card is to make.

 

Hard to believe that Mother's Day is right around the corner.  These cards were made with the Messages for Mom stamp set and the Bigz Sizzix Flower Daisies #2 die.  The base card uses pretty in pink card stock.  Rich razzleberry card stock is used behind the flower and behind the Mom stamp, and I used the Paper Doily Large Sizzlit Die out of the mini catalog on the one card.  The doily is beautiful when it's cut out; however, after making 22 card packets up, I probably won't use it again for a while.  The cut you get with the sizzlits never seem quite as good as the cut you get with the bigger dies.

Spring Sticky Notes

Below are some of the new sticky note pad covers that I have been making.  To make one, cut your paper 6-11/16 X 3-1/8, and then score from each end at the 3-1/8 mark.  I use the sticky strip adhesive on the sticky note pad to adhere the cover.  They are so easy to make, and they make a great gift when you just want to give a little something. 

 

Bird House Card

I just recently purchased the bird house sizzix die and thought I would post the card I made with it as it compliments Stampin' Up!s bird building stamps and punch so well.  I used a cuttlebug wood grain embossing folder on the bird house which I thought really improved the overall appeal of the card.  I used Stampin' Up's Thinking of You stamp from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set, but any sentiment could be used.

St. Patrick's Day

I didn't make too many St. Patrick's Day cards or projects this year, and I neglected to take a picture of the one card that I did make.  The rosette on the left was made with the Bigz Designer Rosette die and Happy St Patrick's stamp featured in the SU Occassions Mini Catalog.  The pin on the right was made with green foil.  I put fun foam on the back, and then cut it out with the sizzix shamrock die.  I put pin backs on some and magnets on others.

My Husband's Craft Room

My husband makes beautiful stained glass pieces, and Sunday we spent a little time in his craft room playing with some of his leftover scrap pieces.  I got this idea from my friend Tricia, and I think it's a great way to use up some of those small scraps.  These could be made into pins or magnets.  Please let me know which you think would be better.  Thank you!

Card Clubs - March 6 and 13, 2012

These are the cards that we will be doing at my cards clubs on March 6 and March 13:

This card was made with the Everybunny set and was inspired by Wanda @ www.starlightstamper.com.  The base card uses elegant eggplant topped with whisper white which has been embossed with the little dots embossing folder.  I used the pinking hearts border on the middle elegant eggplant piece.  I also used the Stampin' Up! corner punch which I do not see in the current catalog - whoops!  The stamp set was colored in with markers, and I used chalk around the stamped image.

 

These cards were made with the All in the Family and Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp sets.  They were inspired by some cards that I saw on www.splitcoatstampers, and I apologize that I was not able to find them again so that I could give the proper person credit.  The base cards are whisper white (guess I should have put them on a darker paper when I took the picture so it would show up better).  The boy card uses bashful blue and chocolate chip, and the girl card uses pretty in pink and chocolate chip.  The following punches were used to make this card:  scallop circle 2-3/8 and 1-3/4, dotted scallop ribbon border, square 1-1/4 and 1-3/8.

 

I learned how to make this cute little tea bag holder from Linda at www.stampingschool.com, and it uses the Tea Shoppe stamp set out of the Occasions mini catalog.  The base card uses night of navy card stock that is cut 10-1/2" X 3-1/2", and then scored at 3-1/2" and 7".  The square on the front and the scallop circle on the inside are made with lucky limeade card stock.  The little flowers and ribbon are calypso coral, and I stamped on whisper white paper using night of navy, lucky limeaid, and calypso coral.  The little flowers also have pearls in the center.  This project uses a neat technique with sticky notes to create the stacked tea cup effect.  I am a tea drinker and look forward to giving a few of my tea-drinking friends one as a gift.

This is my beloved dog Molly who will celebrate her 10th birthday this month.  She is a border collie/husky mix, and a permanet fixture in my craft room whenever I am in there.  I do have to watch her though as she doesn't mind chewing on paper and wooden stamps if she finds them on the floor.
