Card Club - July 3, 10, & 11, 2012

This card was inspired by Cheryl Garratt, and Cheryl's very creative blog can be found at www.cherylcanstamp.blogspot.com.  This card uses the Kindness Matters and En Francais stamp sets, the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder, and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.  The base card uses pacific point card stock, and the background paper is daffodil delight stamped with early espresso.  The Kindness Matters stamp set is stamped on the ivory paper with the early espresso, and the butterflies have been colored in with the colored pencils.  In addition to the border sheet of early espresso around the ivory paper, I also sponged a bit of early espresso around the edges of the ivory paper.

This card uses the Open Sea and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets.  The base card is crumb cake card stock topped with a piece of night of navy that has been embossed with the stripes embossing folder.  The ship log was stamped on crumb cake card stock using night of navy ink and framed with a piece of real red card stock.  The globe was stamped on the whisper white card stock prior to stamping over the top with the night of navy.  I used the modern label punch to provide the real red background for the sentiment, and the sentiment was stamped with night of navy on whisper white prior to using the word window punch.  Circle punches were also used after stamping the ship and anchor.   I also used a piece of baker's twine at the top of the log and threaded it through the anchor circle.

The third card we will do for the card club will be the graduation card that I posted on June 23.

I have room at my house on July 11 if anyone that is not a club member would like to join us to make cards. The cost is $10, and I just ask that you bring your own adhesive and let me know that you will be coming. Thank you!

Graduation Card

I didn't receive the Pure Gumption stamp set in time for my June card club, but I did manage to create this card using the set along with the owl builder punch, 1-1/4" square punch, 2-1/2 circle punch, and star sizzix die.  The base card is real red, and I stamped on whisper white with basic gray.  The circle, stars, and one border are all in daffodil delight.  The outside border is in basic gray.  I sponged around the whisper white with a little real red ink to make it pop slightly.  It's difficult to tell in the picture, but I used the new paper piercing tools to punch a small design on the owl's belly.  I used two of the basic gray squares to create the little graduation cap at the top.  The tassle consists of a brad and the bakers twine.  Congraulations to all of the new 2012 Graduates!!

Card Clubs - June 5, 12 & 13, 2012

Hard to believe that June is upon us and 2012 is almost half over.  Below are the cards that we will be making in the card clubs on June 6, 12, and 13.  I have room at my house on June 13 if anyone that is not a club member would like to pay $10 to just make the cards.  The $10 fee is waived if you end up placing a $35 order.

These cards were made using the Hello Doily background and Word Play stamp sets.  I think that the Hello Doily background makes a very pretty background setting for almost any sentiment.  The shower/wedding card was prepared in elegant eggplant and whisper white, and the graduation and/or inspirational card was made in cherry cobbler and whisper white.  Both cards use the scallop dotted ribbon at the bottom.

This card was inspired by Vicki Burdick at Splitcoaststampers and uses the Make a Monster stamp set.  The base card is soft suede, the background color is real red, and I stamped on the whisper white.  Two buttoms offset the sentiment at the bottom.

The card was inspired by Julie Hoffman at Splitcoaststampers, and Julie's blog can be fouind at www.juliemakescards.blogspot.com.  It's a little bit difficult to see in the picture, but this card uses the elegant bouquet embossing folder.  I colored the center of the flowers in using a black marker.  The butterlies were made using the Beautiful Wings embosslit die and the pearl accents.  The sentiment at the bottom was stamped in basic black and comes from the Loving Thoughts stamp set.
