Card Clubs - May 1, 8 & 9, 2012

This will be the beginning of a new card club that will meet at my house on May 1 & 9.  We still have room on both nights so if you would like to join the club, please let me know.  May 8 will be the last night of a club that meets in Wellsville, and I believe they plan to start back up again in June.  Below are the cards we will be doing:

This card was inspiried by Patty Gorka on Splitcoaststamers, and Patty also has a very inspiring blog at www.lalattystampnstuff.blogspot.com.  This card was made with the Inspired by Nature and Sincere Salutations stamp sets.  I colored directly on the stamp with early espresso, daffodil delight, and always artichoke markers and stamped the image on whisper white card stock.  The paper behind the whisper white is always artichoke which has been punched with the eyelet border punch.  The base card is daffodil delight and the left side of the card has been scored with the simply scored tool.

I actually came up with this card myself, and I used the Best Dad Ever stamp set along with the Sizzix star and button dies.  I colored directly on the stamp with old olive, not quite navy, and cajun craze markers, and stamped the image on whisper white card stock with a background of not quite navy.  The button was made with not quite navy card stock and a little hemp twine.  The stars were cut from cajun craze card stock.  It's difficult to tell in the picture, but I restamped the center tie in cajun craze, cut it out and applied it to the previously stamped image with dimensionals.  The Best Dad Ever stamp set comes with a few different sentiments if you do not need a Father's Day card.

This card was inspired by my Stampin' Up! pen pal, Lauri Ingram.  Lauri also has a very creative and inspiring blog at www.lauri-paperville.blogspot.com.  The base card uses pretty in pink card stock which has been topped with vellum that was embossed with the dots and punched with the eyelet punch.  The sentiment from the Bring on the Cake stamp set was stamped with certainly celery on pretty in pink with a strip of certainly celery behind it.  The flower was created with the Build a Blossum stamp set and punch.  The petals were created by stamping pretty in pink on whisper white and then punching them out.  To finish the card off, the petals were sprinkled with dazzling details glitter.  The picture just doesn't do this card justice.
